Project Context

Flux residues before coating

The contract assembler soldered boards with rosin flux and required a clean, dry surface before conformal coating.

Before LENJEX

Residue under components

Flux and ionic residues under components affected reliability and coating adhesion.

  • Rosin flux under components
  • Ionic residues
  • Need for complete drying
  • Mixed board and component compatibility

Cleaning Solution

Controlled de-flux wash and drying

The LJ-LAB30 used compatible de-flux chemistry with controlled energy, followed by complete drying before coating.

Board compatibility was confirmed with representative assemblies first.

Project Outcomes

Cleaning results and process improvements

Performance depends on the workpiece, contamination, chemistry, loading method and acceptance criteria.

  1. Result 01Flux and ionic residues removed before coating
  2. Result 02Boards dried completely under components
  3. Result 03Improved coating adhesion and reliability
  4. Result 04Repeatable process for mixed boards
